Volunteering is Fun!

May I fill your water dish?

Here are a few of the things we need help with:

Day before/morning of
Pick up mystery item from the party rental shop
Pick up greenery from flower shop
Pick up bags of ice (we need lots of ice!)

Pre-ceremony (10AM to noon-ish)
Greet guests and ask them to sign our guest book
Set up chairs for ceremony, set up reception tables
Put together decorations and centerpieces

Ceremony (12:30PM to 1:30PM-ish)
Videotape the ceremony
laugh, cry, cheer, and celebrate
Shout "Mazel Tov", "Qapla'", and "Iä! Iä! Cthulhu Fhtagn!" at the appropriate moments

Pre-Reception (Immediately after ceremony)
Move chairs from ceremony to reception site
Put out food and drinks

Reception (1:30PM-ish to 5:30PM)
(This is when we need the most help)
Make a pot or two of coffee, stock cream and sugar
Periodically check and stock food and beverages
Watch the bride and groom act goofy in love
Supervise André, the hairiest party animal of all time
Take care of "abandoned" plates and cups
Make friends, dance, and laugh
Help assemble the magical wedding cake

Cleanup (5:30PM to 6:30PM-ish)
Wipe down tables, fold and put away chairs
Collect trash and recycling
Take down decorations, pack up leftover food and cake
Pack up guest book and other miscellaneous items
Swap phone numbers with that new love interest
Go home knowing that you are loved and appreciated
